Gallery ~ Memorial Baskets ~

I made the first Memorial Basket in 1990 honoring my grandmother. Inheriting her sewing scraps, I coiled the fabrics and laces into a basket that is now a vessel full of memories to hold and remember her.

Creating each Memorial Basket is a profound experience. You choose your family mementos and together we discuss the importance of these treasures and their stories, giving me the privilege and responsibility of weaving them into an heirloom.

All Memorial Baskets are by commission.

I also lead small groups or individuals in creating their own Memorial Art.

Please contact me for more information and fees.

"...Burleson's nests... put you in touch with that richness of the psyche that is the source of poetry, in life and in art. They can reveal the associations that lurk just below the surface of things, unlocking memories and truths. Where, if you are not careful, you may stumble on the unlikely and the wondrous. This is the place Burleson has claimed as her own."
